Beau Joubert

Beau Joubert

“For over 200 years, we have hand-harvested our grapes from noble varieties… born from our vines, hugged by the mountains, and kissed by the sea breezes… creating world-class wines!”

The colorful story of our wines began in the renowned wine region of Stellenbosch, South Africa dating back to 1695. Governor Simon van der Stel then granted the land known as Veelverjaagt, to one Jan Coenraad Visser (JCV). A century later, the farm was bought by a French Huguenot descendant, Dirk Daniel Joubert. Since then, five Joubert generations have placed their unique stamp on this incredible property.

Box Head Wines

Box Head

Boxhead represents outstanding value no matter the locale. For 14 years the red and fertile soils of McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley were the guts of what has always been a crowd-pleasing Shiraz. In year 15, the square-shaped brains behind this elixir moved across the seas but within the same hemisphere to South Africa. The granitic and shale riddled soils of Swartland became a blank page to write the next chapter of this brand. The bottle still shows that familiar cubic dome of a mascot, while the juice inside remains a familiar flavor with optimum ripe fruit flavors, supple texture and chewy tannins.

Van Loggerenberg

Van Loggerenberg

Van Loggerenberg Wines is a family-run winery based in Paarl, making low-intervention, site-specific wines from vineyards mainly in the Stellenbosch and Swartland appellations.

“For me, freshness and purity are paramount. I want to express the vineyard sites with elegance, balance and bags of flavour.- Lukas van Loggerenberg, Winemaker

Lovely Creatures

Lovely Creatures

Yes, Lovely Creatures is a nod to the eponymous album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but it is also an homage to the often-overlooked critters that make up the ecosystem of a vineyard. From regal praying mantises to butterflies and bees, these animals help to bring a distinctive balance to their liana-speckled habitats.

Like these little creatures, these wines are unassuming and, yet, so lovely. They are made by Stephanie Wiid of Thistle & Weed, and though these are school night wines, they are still marked by her trademark intensity and elegant finish. The line is currently made up of two single-variety wines, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, which both come from single-vineyard sites in Stellenbosch that are nearly two decades old. The clay-driven granitic soils provide texture and power to the wines, and native yeast fermentation offers an even deeper appreciation for the “lovely creatures” who take on the lofty task of turning ripe fruit juice into alcohol.
