California

Perseverence

It is often said that great wines are grown, not made. This colloquialism emphasizes the importance of not only selecting the best vineyards up and down the coast of California for our wines, it honors our winegrowers; the ones who make skilled decisions about the day-to-day care of the vineyard to deliver the best fruit possible.

Perseverence

It is essential that the winemaker and winegrower bond in their common vision and work together while making the artful decisions it takes to make great wine. This task is not often easy. Every growing season delivers a new set of challenges as well as an opportunity to manage the curve balls Mother Nature may send our way. This wine is aa tribute to the never-ending daunting task of the people in the winery and vineyard who persevere and rise to overcome these ever-changing challenges to deliver a great bottle of wine.

Silver Creek

Silver Creek

We have nurtured the art of wine-making in our family for five generations. The tradition began with my great grandfather who lived in a small hill town in Southern Italy. He asked the vineyard owner for permission to pick just enough grapes to make a few gallons of wine for family and friends.

The wine turned out to be delicious and everyone asked for more. When his “hobby” began to take more time than running his small farm, he began to think about selling his livestock and planting some vineyards of his own.

He and several others emigrated to America and settled in the Santa Clara Valley because he liked the warm climate and the rich, fertile soil. He worked tirelessly and saved enough money make his life-long dream come true with his own grapes.

The Culprit

Culprit

Our Red Blend includes Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and 6 other varietals. A simply wonderful array of flavors harmonized and layered with notes of spice, anise, blueberries, cedar, wild cherries, black currant and licorice. Well-structured with sweet tannins and a satisfying finish displaying hints of crushed rock and graphite. BIG, BOLD and INTENSE!!

Crooked Path

Crooked Path

When you come across a crooked path you must decide if it is a road worth taking. Our path begins and ends in the historic California wine region of Paso Robles where the warm days and cool evenings are perfectly suited to producing exceptional fruit. We hope you enjoy the journey.

Napa Valley

Napa By N.A.P.A

Napa By Napa

N.A.P.A. (it stands for FAMILY!)
We've been in the wine business a long time, so we enjoy reminiscing about some of our "family firsts", especially this one, our first Napa Valley release. The N.A.P.A. portion of the wine’s name represents the 5th generation of Scotto Vintners: my brothers and sisters Natalie, Anthony, Paul (me) and Anne. Michael’s Red is named for our youngest brother, and Bianca’s White is named for our youngest sister, who has recently joined us on our wine adventure.

The Lost Chapters

The Lost Chapters

The Lost Chapters represents the culmination of 5th generation Winemaker Paul Scotto's dream. Each year Paul sources and crafts dozens of brands, varietals and blends for the Scotto Family's extensive wine portfolio. In his relentless search for just the right barrel lots to fit the profile of each bottling, Paul occasionally encounters something very special that deserves its own place. While these select and limited lots may enhance a given blend, they would also present themselves far better as a stand-alone that most likely would not be repeated in future vintages.

J. McClelland Cellars

J.McClelland Cellars

In 2008, the Scotto Family began preparing for the production of a collection of world class wines from Napa Valley dedicated to and named for their long time friend, trusted advisor and iconic California wine industry personality John McClelland. The fruit would be sourced from select Napa Valley vineyards by Winery Director and Winemaker Paul Scotto and vinified with Winemaker Mark Smith at the Scotto family's newly acquired Steele Canyon Winery in the Valley's eastern hills.

Wicker Vineyards

With 2019 marking his fiftieth harvest as a grower, Ron (& Lisa) Wicker are now in their nineteenth vintage as winemakers. Beginning with the purchase of a small Cabernet vineyard on Howell Mountain in 2000 their focus for the first nine years was on their elegant, Old World style Cabernet. In 2010 lovers of their wine convinced them to release their first Burgundy style Chardonnay from a vineyard leased near the Napa County Airport.

Bello Family Vineyards

Bello Family Vineyards

Bello Family Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery in Napa Valley producing extraordinary wines from an estate vineyard. The dream was set into motion when Michael Bello purchased a piece of prime real estate in Napa Valley’s Rutherford Bench district. At Bello Family Vineyards, we like to think our drive and passion for making wines of the highest possible quality shines through in every bottle, and we hope you will agree.

50 Harvest

50 Harvest

In 2013, the Scotto Family decided to produce a wine honoring their 50th harvest in California. Although they envisioned the wine as a singular addition to their portfolio, it was also intended to memorialize the family's winemaking heritage originating on the Island of Ischia just off the Italian coast in 1883. That is when Salvatore Dominic Scotto began the family's five-generation journey producing quality wines to grace the table of eager followers.

Singing Tree By Nick Goldschmidt

Singing Tree

The rolling hills and gentle slopes near the town of Sebastopol were once home to apple orchards filled with songbirds. By the early 1990’s though, most of the orchards were replanted with grapes. The factors that define a quality Chardonnay vineyard are numerous, but Nick Goldschmidt believes matching varietal and rootstock to the right vineyard site yields the most flavorful grapes. High quality grapes grow only under certain optimum soil conditions, including a balance of nutrients within certain clays. These clay minerals play a critical role, as they can retain water and act as harbors for nutrients better than other soil types. Clays that offer slow nutrient transfer to grape vine plants are preferred.

Optima

Inizi

With a passion for winemaking that stretches over 42 years, we believe a bottle of wine tells a story. Open the bottle, and you taste the sun the fruit absorbed and the nights it survived. You follow the winery through the rows of the vines, waiting for the optimal moment to pick. You sense the shiver the farm workers have as they delicately hand pick each cluster in the early morning of the harvest day. Our Winemaker protects the clusters through sorting, crushing, fermenting and pressing. You smell the barrels he selected and feel the serenity of years soaking in the wood. You can trust we honored the vintage and gave the wine exactly what it needed to become the best it can be without manipulating the wine.

Fitch Mountain Cellars

Fitch Mountain

Created as a quality everyday wine to enjoy while the Optima wines develop in the barrel. First-pick Cabernet Sauvignon from premium Alexander Valley and Knights Valley vineyards. You’ll be rewarded for your efforts!

Omen

Omen

SUSTAINABLE/ORGANIC, VEGAN, NO SO2 ADDED - Omen wines is named for an abandoned monastery that sits a top one of the vineyards managed by Atlas Vineyard Management, creators of the Omen line. A project of winemaker Alexandre Remy and his team, Omen produces lush, round and ripe wines from vineyards in Paso Robles, the Sierra Foothills, and (for the Pinot) Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley AVA. Alex works with several different wineries to vinify his wines, as he firmly believes that grapes should never travel more than 20 miles from vineyard to winery to retain freshness.

All fruit is sustainably farmed with minimal intervention, working towards fully organic. (The Pinot and the wines from the Rorick Heritage Vineyard are all fully organic.). All are vegan, and all are very limited production. Omen uses only Diam corks, guaranteed 100% TCA (cork-taint) free.

The Meeker Vineyards

The Meeker

Charles and Molly Meeker bought their first vineyard at the end of West Dry Creek Road in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley in 1977. In 1984, Charlie and Molly established their winery — The Meeker Vineyard — with Charlie as the winemaker. In its early years, the winery specialized in Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. The early 2000’s were a time of substantial expansion, with the winery growing from a few thousand cases per year to well over 10,000.

Sand Point Vineyards

Sand Point

It all started with small simple changes. We nurtured oak trees along the river, planted native bushes, and built boxes for nesting wood ducks. This evolved to our first land restoration project seven acres along the Mokelumne River surrounded by our home ranch that we returned to its natural habitat. Since then, our family has been preserving and restoring land nestled within and alongside our vineyards.

Scotto Family Cellars

Scotto Family Cellars

Our family's vinous heritage and history dates back to 1883 when Salvatore Dominic Scotto, an officer in the Italian Navy, began making wine at his home on the Island of Ischia, just off the coast of Italy. In addition to making wine for his family (a long-held custom in Italy), Salvatore also treated his friends and neighbors to the fruits of his labor.

Today we are a 5th-generation family owned and managed wine producing company. We take pride in treating our team not only as collaborators but also as family members who are encouraged to think creatively and live with a can-do attitude. For five generations our family has embraced the Old World traditions of sharing meals and celebrating meaningful moments with friends. Wine has always been a centerpiece of these events and a reflection of the Italian heritage we so proudly embrace.

North Coast

A+D (Anthony & Dominic)

AD Wines

My grandfather, Anthony Sr., started his wine career in 1940, selling gallon jugs of his father’s homemade red wine from a pushcart in their Brooklyn neighborhood. Twenty-three years later he moved the family to California, just in time for the 1963 harvest. He bought a winery about 40 miles from San Francisco where his sons learned to make wine.

We will always remember Sunday night dinners at his winery home, when he passed along the family history, values and winemaking standards. He also handed down two names that appear throughout our family tree: Anthony & Dominic. Our wines, including North Coast Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rosé, are tributes to the family members that carried our names before us.

I'm proud to carry on my father’s name, Anthony Scotto II (A2), as well as my grandfather’s, Anthony Scotto, Sr. (A1 if you will). Our family and our traditions have made our wine business a success, and it wouldn't be possible without my brothers Paul Anthony Scotto (Winemaker) and Michael Anthony Scotto (Production Manager). We carry on the names but the authenticity, family values and great wine is what we want to share with all of you.

Santa Barbara County

Brick Barn Estate

Brick Barn Estate

At Brick Barn Wine Estate we make the wines we love and grow the grapes that inspire us!

Brick Barn Wine Estate founder, Norman Williams, originally purchased this land from the Buell family in 1968. Shortly thereafter, the property became home to an Arabian horse farm, replete with a 36-stall brick barn created by an Italian stonemason in the early 1970s.

Norman and his wife Kathleen were drawn to the idea of growing grapes—and ultimately making wine. They saw immense promise in their land, and they knew that its distinct location could create exceptional wines. In 2012, they planted 35 acres. The specific varieties were chosen for their synergy with the estate’s unique growing conditions, and because both Norman and Kathleen were passionate about them.

The original brick barn has now been reimagined as a winery and gathering place, while other portions of the ranch continue to be dedicated to organic vegetable farming and cattle ranching.

Mendocino

Bliss and Brutocao

Bliss Wines

Bliss Family Vineyards story begins in the late 1930s, our Grandfather, Irv Bliss, was drawn to Mendocino County by its beautiful rolling hills and unspoiled land. He found himself on Old Toll Road looking out over a picturesque ranch that he dreamed of acquiring.
Years later, Irv heard of a Mendocino property for sale. He gathered all his savings and headed to the auction to bid on the property sight unseen. Seventy years later, we carry Irv’s love for the land through our third generation of family farmers.

Brutocao Family Vineyards is a tale of two families who combined their passion and expertise to establish one of Mendocino County's most notable wineries. Len Brutocao met Martha Bliss met while attending the University of California, Berkeley. After Len and Martha married, the families joined forces and continued to sell their grapes to well-known Sonoma and Napa wineries for many years before starting to make their own wine in 1980.
